Nine Darling, South Yarra

Location: South Yarra

Completion: 2015

This development comprises of a mix of studio, one and two-bedroom apartments over seven levels. The building form consists of six interlocking volumes, at varying heights, scales and setbacks, which articulate it into separate forms.

The building is designed as a sculptural object and integrates form, facade and planning into an overall concept. The design aims to integrate the setbacks into the overall composition.

In designing the building, an extensive process of architectural exploration was undertaken – numerous options were tested to develop an architecture that responds to the design objectives. The facade concept creates a geometric composition of various expressed opening sizes.
